Earlier, she appreciated the network when it launched the long term satellite service last April 29 and stated “The remoteness of our continent and its islands is no longer a barrier to broadband connectivity thanks to the nbn^® Sky Muster^®.”
Residents are likewise happy at the new satellite service. Kristy Sparrow, a grazier who has advocated for Internet in the bush through the Better Internet for Rural, Regional, and Remote Australia Facebook page, confirms that her Internet speeds have jumped nearly five times faster than her mobile broadband which used 3G and 4G networks.
As reported in ABC, she said “I just did a speed test before and I’m getting 23 megabits per second (Mbps) download speed and about 4.5Mbps upload speed so that’s pretty good. We never usually got over 5Mbps.”
“Down the track, I will be looking into things like cloud accounting and my kids will be really happy they can update their phones and iPads.”
According to Ms Sparrow, she used to carefully monitor each megabyte of data she consumes. With the new speeds and data allowances on the Sky Muster^®, new technological avenues for her family’s property have opened.
“It will be great for our business. Our accountant has been talking about cloud accounting now for several years, but we’ve never had the data to be able to do it… So we’re definitely going forward with our business plan,” Ms Sparrow remarked.
