Second NBN Satellite to Boost Sky Muster Dependability and Capacity
Great news for everyone in Australia: the National Broadband Network’s Sky Muster® II post-launch manoeuvres are right on schedule.
According to Space Daily, Space Systems Loral, responsible for building the internet satellite, have done all needed manoeuvres for the Sky Muster® II and it’s right on schedule, with deployment of its solar arrays aboard the Ariane 5.
Further reports said its main thrusters, which will propel it toward its final geostationary orbit, have also been launched.

The first nbn® satellite, which was launched last 2015, was also built by SSL.
The Sky Muster® and Sky Muster® II aim to work together to provide higher capacity and dependable service to Australia’s hard to reach citizens, from remote and rural areas on the mainland in addition to those from the offshore islands like Norfolk, Christmas, Lord Hower, Cocos and even Macquarie in the Antarctic.
