Sky Muster II Satellite Launching into Orbit Tomorrow

The second nbn® Sky Muster® Satellite is to be launched tomorrow.
The National Broadband Network’s Sky Muster® satellite aims to bring fast and reliable Internet connection to thousands of Australians, especially those living in remote and rural areas. In order to accomplish that task, the nbn® is launching a second Sky Muster® satellite in orbit tomorrow, 5th of October.
According to Satnews, the Sky Muster® II is intended to be a high-performance broadband satellite and will be launched via the Ariane space dual-passenger Ariane 5 mission.
The second satellite is designed to further boost the delivery of the the nbn®‘s advanced satellite internet services, particularly for Australians living in hard to reach places such as Tasmania and other islands.
The second Sky Muster is a Ka-band, high-throughput broadband satellite and will use advanced design multiple spot beams to better optimise the country’s bandwidth, leading to better distribution to the population.
The satellite was built by Space Systems Loral for the country’s broadband network and will have an estimated liftoff mass of 6,400 kilograms.
Many Australians are in need of better internet, and the Sky Muster® II comes at a perfect time to deliver fast and reliable internet across the bush.

Tomorrow’s Sky Muster® II launch will be accompanied by India’s GSAT-18 telecommunications satellite, which was developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation.
