Beginning May 6 of next year, Mandurah and Meadow Springs, that have 2,900 premises with access to the National Broadband Network, will face landline service disconnection.
Services from here on out will be replaced by those over the NBN as part of the fixed line infrastructure national upgrade in Australia. Existing landline and Internet services across Meadow Springs and Mandurah will soon be disconnected and will progressively get replaced with services over the NBN.
This is why NBN Co advises the remainder of households and businesses that have yet to make the switch and place orders for services over the network to do so and get in touch with their preferred ISPs and phone providers ASAP.
Peter Gurney, NBN Co spokesperson said every home, business, and community across WA will gain access to fast broadbrand by the time the rollouts are completed, making it possible for everyone to benefit from an increasingly digital future, but that migrating to the NBN does not happen automatically. You can call ISPs like Activ8me to check what NBN broadband plans you can get in your location that suits your monthly budget and usage.
He said a move from existing landline phone and internet services towards the NBN is the only way residents and businesses will be able to continue using them. Otherwise, they must settle for mobile solutions.
“We are particularly urging people with special equipment including Eftpos terminals, medical and security alarms, which operate using a landline phone connection, to contact their preferred phone company and internet service provider as soon as possible,” Mr. Gurney said.
