NBN™ To Help Strengthen Tech Potential in Wangaratta

The National Broadband Network is helping to strengthen the technological potential in Wangaratta, VIC. The Honourable Catherine “Cathy” McGowan AO, Independent Member for Indi, is welcoming the nbn® to switch-on its services in Wangaratta by July 31 of this year and encourages residents and business owners to take advantage of the much faster and more reliable Internet connectivity.

People at home will also enjoy increased bandwidth to stream video and content faster to their computers, phones, and tablets,”

At the recent nbn® Forum and Expo held at the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre, both locals and entrepreneurs learned more about the nbn® technology. MP McGowan highlighted that faster, more reliable Internet would help drive innovation in agriculture, business, and entrepreneurship.

The nbn® rollout is currently in full blast across Indi. Around 80 towns will receive fixed wireless coverage through 57 towers. The nbn® is expected to cover more than 66,000 premises in Indi when the rollout is completed until next year.
According to the Wangaratta Chronicle, the network will make Internet connection speeds twice as fast for 9,800 residents in Wangaratta. This means Wangaratta companies can now “work smarter” in their daily business transactions, boost production and enhance the local economy.
