NBN Offering Grants to Small Business Who Utilise NBN Innovation in Business Growth

The National Broadband Network (nbn^®) is offering grants to small business that uses its service to foster Innovation through business growth.

According to Business IT, the multiple grants, amounting to $150,000, will be available to small businesses that employ over 50 employees, incorporated community organisations, and organisations that use the nbn^® for education and training purposes.
There will be one grant of $25,000 for the 1st place winner and $10,000 for two runners-up each. In addition to that, a $15,000 grant will also be awarded to the best of the six runners-up, to be judged by nbn^® Co employees.
Those who wish to apply must meet the following conditions:  

• Be actively subscribed to an nbn^® service with speeds of 25Mbps or faster and in the name of the organisation applying.
• Community Organisations can apply in the name of a declared connected individual.

This is not the first time  the nbn^® has offered grants to businesses.
Last November, the nbn^® partnered with the Australian Information Industry Association or AIIA to provide grants to small business to encourage innovation in the country.
The program, called “Grow with NBN”, distributed three major grants of $25,000 and six $10,000 grants to organisations that used the service for activities in business, education or the community.
Chief Customer Officer John Simon said that the grant program celebrated innovation powerhouses.

“Small and medium-sized business and community organisations drive a significant part of our economy and services, and high speed access through the nbn^® provides them an opportunity to create new business models, improve efficiency, and get closer to the customer.”

The nbn^® is doing it all again and applications are now open.

Those that wish to participate must send their application in the form of a short video and a written response, but move quickly as the nbn^® will only accept entries until the 17th of February, 2017.
