NBN Broadband: Faster Internet in Caboolture by Mid-2015

NBN Co released more maps that revealed the areas where the first trials of the FTTN network will take place. Longman Federal LNP MP Wyatt Roy said the fibre-to-the-node network will address the needs of the community better than the former Labour government’s FTTP plan.
Areas receiving poor service such as Bellmere, Caboolture South, Upper Caboolture, Caboolture, Elimbah, Wamuran, Morayfield, Moodlu, Bongaree, Bellara, Banksia Beach, Woorim, White Patch, and Welsby have been the target of the initial rollouts. However, some suburbs that are considered to be black spots, like Narangba, Beachmere, Toorbul, and Ningi will not be part of the trial yet.
“This trial is just part of the process. The important thing is we did the MyBroadband review. We expect when they (NBN Co.) introduce the full-scale rollout, these under-serviced areas will be prioritised,” Mr. Roy said.
The trial is said to be at a stage where the best construction and installation methods are still being tested, but the technology had already been proven.
Mr. Roy stressed the importance of the NBN broadband project to the residents and business owners in the community as it will fix a lot of problems for many people. Workers are scheduled to be working in the local streets as they plan the new network and undertake civil construction in the coming weeks.
