What the NBN means for Murray Bridge
Coorong Council Mayor Roger Strother says farmers in the catchment area will be able to transform their enterprises thanks for the faster and more effective internet.
“Instead of being just producers now, they’re also people that have got to market their product [and] they’ve got to make contact with everybody, not only locally but regionally and Australia wide and even internationally,” he says. (abc.net.au, 11/6/14)
“Once you get out of town – 5km, 10km out of town – the opportunity to access internet is pretty limited.”

• The speed remains steady, because unlike a mobile wireless service, the speed will not be affected by people moving into and out of the area
• It uses advanced technology commonly referred to as LTE or 4G
• The bandwidth per household will be more consistent than mobile wireless, even in peak times of use

The technology works via small antenna installed on your premises. It picks up a signal from a fixed wireless tower, allowing you to receive speeds comparable to internet services in metro areas.
