Activ8me affirms service to residents of Hervey Bay region as high speed nbn® wireless broadband expands
September 1, 2015 1:26 amAs the nbn® rollout gathers pace, the wait will soon be over for residents in the regional towns and surrounding areas of Dundowran, Nikenbah South and Takura, with 707 premises going live at the end of September. Pacific Haven is set to follow shortly after at the end of October with 285 premises and Buxtonville with 370 premises in the fourth quarter 2015.
Even though nbn has recently announced the need for an additional $25.6 billion to assist with the ongoing rollout of the nbn®network, the news could not be better for residents in the Hervey Bay region who can soon connect to the nbn®.
Activ8me CEO, Tony Bundrock is witnessing increased demand for nbn®Fixed Wireless in previously underserviced regional areas.

To access nbn® Fixed Wireless, asmall antenna is installed on the premises to pick up the signal from a fixed wireless tower. The current nbn® fixed wireless service, which operates via radio signals instead of cable infrastructure, offers speeds up to 25/5Mbps.

From May, selected nbn® users on the fixed-wireless network in regional areas is piloting faster speeds of up to 50Mbps download. Activ8me customers are taking part in the pilot with a commercial launch anticipated for late 2015.
Remaining satellite customers, not in nbn® Fixed Wireless service areas,will soon benefit from the significant upgrade to the nbn® satellite service with nbn’s first commissioned satellite launching into orbit later this year. The dedicated nbn® satelliteis scheduled for connections in the first half of 2016 and promises significantly better performance than what is currently being received on the nbn® Interim Satellite Service (ISS).
