As the school holidays approach, many families are excited to spend quality time together, go on vacations, and participate in fun activities. However, if you’re a Sky Muster user it’s also a time when parents might be concerned about their children’s additional internet usage during the day, and how that can result in running out of monthly Peak data before the month ends.

This is where Activ8me School Holiday Bonus Data comes in handy.

As with previous years, Activ8me will provide an additional 5GB of Peak data each week across the school holidays. This additional bonus data is allocated automatically, so you don’t need to do anything to activate it.

It is allocated in daily allotments (of just over 714MB) to Activ8me Sky Muster^® satellite services (excluding Sky Muster Plus).

To ensure all customers Australia-wide receive the same bonus data, instead of providing different amounts of bonus data for each state, we offer the same bonus data allocation Australia-wide – ensuring an equal amount of bonus data is offered to everyone. This means it may not match with your state or territory’s school holiday calendar.

The bonus data can be used for any internet activities during the peak usage periods (7am until 1am local time), for all activities including browsing, streaming, gaming, and video conferencing.

Constantly Running Out of Peak Data? Switch to Sky Muster Plus

Sky Muster Plus plans offer completed unmetered data (for all online activities) every day until 4pm. That means your kids (and you!) can spend each day using all the internet you want without worrying about any data restrictions before 4pm each day.

Only video streaming and VPN traffic from 4pm until midnight count towards your monthly metered data allowance.

nbn^® Sky Muster^® Plus satellite services do not receive this additional bonus data, however with the unmetered data available on Plus plans, and the shortened Peak hours, even without the bonus data your children can do more on Sky Muster Plus without ever running out of data.

When is the bonus data be added to my account?

Each morning, we automatically apply that day’s bonus data. It is allocated in equal daily allocations (5GB divided by 7 days), meaning each day your service receives an additional bonus data allocation of approx. 714MB.

When does the data expire?

The data expires at the end of your billing month. This means it doesn’t have to be used each day, it will accumulate (or rollover) until the end of your billing month.

When your new billing month begins, you will no longer have access to the daily data previously added to your account.

If you are unsure what date your new billing month begins, you can find it in the Member’s Area or on one of your previous invoices.

What is School Holiday Data, and how does it work?

During the school holidays, Activ8me offers an additional 5GB of data each week to everyone who has a Sky Muster internet service. This extra data is allocated for children to use during their break from school, allowing them to stay connected with their friends, play games, and browse online.

Parents can manage their children’s data usage by setting up usage alerts, time restrictions, and content filters to ensure their kids stay safe online. This can be done on your router or on your children’s devices themselves.
